Delilah - Color Champion
Salt Creek had a wonderful show this past weekend and entered the Spring show season with the leading ladies (Hollywood and Delilah) showing the youngsters (Outlaw, Commander, and Bonecrusher) how to bring home the blues....
Delilah took Color Champion (white females) and Hollywood took first in her class (light fawn - unfortunately, not enough entries in lights for a championship round). Delilah rounded up her baby brother, Commander, and they took the blue in the Produce of Dam class.
Bonecrusher took the blue and the purple in Bred and Owned category - taking the Best of Bred and Owned for the Male category.
Commander had a big class and very tough competition and squeaked out a 2nd in the white juvie class - sweet!
Outlaw entered into a combined class as the only rose grey in a large sea of silver grey and was able to hold his own and take a 3rd place. Impressive bunch of greys coming up!
Great show in Neenah this past weekend! Congrats to all the winners and to the Show Committee for putting on such a great show!!!

Outlaw - left side
Please help us welcome Outlaw and Queenie! Spudland Alpacas (from the very tips of northeastern Maine!) have generously let go of two outstanding alpacas so we could add some fabulous genetics to our foundation. We welcome Spudland's Queenie and Spudland's Outlaw to our herd.

Oh yes....after an extremely competitive class...Storm walked out Color Champion....AGAIN!
Judge Jude Anderson chose this complete package over THREE COLOR CLASSES OF YEARLING MALES and awarded Storm the coveted banner...stating that Storm was the winner. Yep...we agree...This is indeed the male you want to obtain genetics from.
He comes from a line of champions (both dam and sire sides) and his siblings are all champions...
Special breeding rate should be locked in before end of 2012. Contact dee@saltcreekalpaca.com for details.

Introducing the Brown Male Canadian Futurity Color Champion - HP Hurricane's Super Storm!
And yes, he is taking the United States by STORM!
This undefeated, multiple champion brown male is the only brown Hurricane son in the states. These genetics are hard to come by here - get them while they are here! Storm is the sibling to High Plains Tornado - the white male who is an 8x Supreme Champion - and he is also sibling to 2x Supreme Champion, High Plains Vortex.
This is the future of advanced championship genetics!

Futurity and 3x National Champion
Sometimes good things come to an end...
Snowmass Star Quest was picked up by the USS Enterprise (well, not really...he was picked up by the transporter) and taken back to Pucara International. He has gone home. We loved hosting this outstanding stud at Salt Creek - loved even more what he has done for our breeding program! If you were lucky enough to utilize this male while he was here - good for you! If not...well, good for us! We have both a male and female offspring that we have added to our foundation program. AWESOME! Again, thank you Jude and Al for the opportunity to bring Star Quest to the Midwest!

Everyone needs a friend to lean on...or nap on!
Hard to believe...but the alpacas seemed to find the show exhausting...or not very exciting! A few snapshots confirm...Bravo, Delilah, and Sierra all slept! Either that, or there was one heck of an "after hours" party that the humans have no knowledge of!!!
Bravo taking a nap....
Sierra takes a snooze...

Grand River Bravo
Please help us welcome two additional studs to our herd sire row!
Bravo comes from Grand River Alpaca Farm in Rock Creek, OH. Grand River is not only known for the legendary Reserve Herdsire of the Year, Dark Shaddow, but they have also produced his stunning son - also a Herdsire of the Year - Grand River Amstel. The latest in the line of these grand "gentlemen" is the son of Amstel - Grand River Bravo! He comes packed with his own credentials, having won 1st place TWICE at the Nationals!
Greyfyre, the son of the one and only Shaquille, comes to us from Rosehaven Alpacas in Callicoon in NY. Shaquille - an 8x champion - is known to give his offspring his fabulous fiber and rock solid conformational traits.
Welcome to Salt Creek gentlemen!
